Peace

There is something about the snow, it brings a calm and quietness with it. You step outside and just kinda get lost in silence. Nature becomes more alive, birds and squirrels come out together with one common goal: food. The cardinals look like little red flowers dotted here and there across the white landscape. Every where you look gets a fresh new coat of color. You just have to ignore the cold long enough to take all of it in and make a new memory.

There is a privacy about it which no other season gives you.... In spring, summer and fall people sort of have an open season on each other; only in the winter, in the country, can you have longer, quiet stretches when you can savor belonging to yourself.  ~Ruth Stout

  1. Your posts are so philosophical. Are you a professional writer?
